How long does it last?

Pigments during the machine or microblading process are implanted into the skin, allowing for healed results of very fine, thin, and crisp hair lines. A color boost is required usually between 18-24 months, but may last until 36.

A color boost may be required at 12 months for oily-skinned clients, those who tan often, or often expose brow area to certain chemicals (facial peels, chlorine, anti-aging products, etc). Pigment retention varies depending on skin type, age, aftercare, immune system, medications, certain chemicals, and the type of pigment used.

Natalie uses only the best quality pigments that heal true to color. All materials used during each and every appointment (including pre-sterilized blades) are 100% disposable. Natalie strictly adhere's to both Nevada County Public Health and OSHA guidelines for proper infection control practices

  • One week prior : stop taking the following supplements (Vitamin E, B6, Omega 3, Ginkgo Biloba, St. John's Wort) as they contribute to thinning the blood and may affect anesthetic efficacy. You may resume taking your vitamins 72 hours after.

  • On the day of your appointment: avoid caffeine, pain medications, blood thinners and exercise. Wash your hair in the morning as you may want to avoid the shower the first day.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

DAY OF:
  • Upon arrival you will fill out and sign your health intake and contract.

  • Next we will clean your skin and apply topical anesthetic for 20 min to pre-numb the skin.

  • Next we create your desired shape as well as choose your pigment color(s). Natalie always recommends matching your natural brow color.

  • She will then test your skin to make sure you are comfortable prior to and after the first stroke or pass. Natalie will continually ask you your comfort level and will periodically apply topical anesthetic to keep you numb throughout the procedure.

  • When finished, your eyebrows will have sharp crisp strokes, and will appear a shade darker than your natural brows (this WILL fade anywhere from 15-30% once healed depending on skin type etc).

  • Lastly we will go over your aftercare instructions/kit prior to you leaving the studio.

  • A thorough aftercare kit and instructions will be given

AFTER PROCEDURE:

Redness and swelling dissipate within an hour after the treatment, although it is normal for them to feel sore

  • During the healing process, your brows will go through a few stages - at first, they appear sharp and crisp (and a bit dark). After a few days they darken even more and may even have a red undertone. On day 3 or 4 they start the flaking process- DO NOT pick or scrub your brows as your skin is still absorbing the pigment! They will look the lightest after they are done sloughing, as your skin regenerates new skin on top of the implantation as a natural immune response. The brows go through a series of stages, so it is important you understand and trust the healing process!

  • The color will eventually fade slightly and the definition will soften.

AFTER CARE::

You will be sent home with a full aftercare kit and instructions.
